Coastal Conversations: Dynamic Dunes on the Solway Coast @ Webinar

Sand dunes are one of the most important habitats in Europe, and under huge threat from damage, destruction and loss of wildlife. This FREE online session will look at how these special places are being managed across the Solway Firth, discussing case studies from Silloth and Mersehead.

Volunteer Work Party @ Get Cumbria Buzzing site at Christ Church, Allonby

We have a new Get Cumbria Buzzing site at Christ Church, Allonby. We will be joining some volunteers from the church collecting cuttings from the first mow of the churchyard in preparation for seeding.

Bring – Mask, gloves, lunch and drink, clothes and footwear suitable for task and expected weather

Fix The Firth Beach Clean @ Fix The Firth Beach Clean - North Allonby

Please note: This event is not hosted by Solway Coast NL and is organised by ‘Fix the Firth’ with John Gorrill.

Come and help a group of volunteers protect the lovely Solway Coast. All equipment provided.

Wellies and waterproofs advisable. Children welcome with responsible adults. Dogs OK.

Covid-19:  Voluntary service which cannot be performed at home is a ‘reasonable excuse’ for leaving home.  We always work 2+ metres apart entirely outdoors.

Past events: from 7/8/17 to 11/5/21 our 217 beach cleans have collected 4413 bags of rubbish + tyres, fish crates, plastic barrels, carpets & metal mesh too big for bags.
