Tuesday 14th May CROSSCANONBY CARR RESERVE WORKDAY As part of our ongoing management of this reserve we will be carrying out routine maintenance of the boardwalk and mending the broken edge boards. Please meet on site at 10.30am off the B5300. All tools will be provided, please bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing.
Wednesday 15th May GLASSON MOSS NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE (NNR) - BOARDWALK CONSTRUCTION Join in with the boardwalk construction on this important SSSI site. Please wear suitable clothing and bring a packed lunch. Meet at Glasson Moss at 10.30am and finishing around 2.00pm.
Directions for parking: Glasson Moss Grid Ref c NY230600. Take minor road north from Kirkbride towards Bowness-on-Solway. Go over River Wampool. Turn right and then next left. Follow road north. Look out for NNR sign, entrance gate and picnic table. Parking available for a couple of cars on hard standing and for others along grass verge.
Friday 17th May Meeting at the Car Park at Mawbray Yard
(seaward side of the B5300 at Mawbray) at 10.30am, we will spend and hour or two observing and noting the bird species present at this busy time of year. Please bring binoculars and suitable clothing. Roughly 2 hours.

Tuesday 28th May INVASIVE WEED REMOVAL MAWBRAY BANKS As part of the new Higher Level Stewardship Management (through Natural England) of Mawbray Banks and other land areas owned by Allerdale Borough Council, we will be extending our activities and management actions.
We are hoping to remove certain invasive weeds on the dune grasslands in order that the natural grasses and wildflowers can compete and survive better. Target species will be Rosebay Willow Herb, some Ragwort, and thistle.
There will be individual weed wipes available, gloves, eye protectors and other equipment needed. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear and a packed lunch.

Harrington Reserve & Siddick Ponds Reserve

As most of our volunteers will be aware Volunteer Coordinator, Graeme Proud, has opportunities for alternative work days on behalf of Allerdale Borough Council each Tuesday at Harrington and Thursdays at Siddick Ponds Reserve. Anyone interested in attending either site should contact Graeme on 016973 33055 or 07751 252 454
