A Celebration of 40 Years
Celebrating 40 years of Solway Coast as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this film looks at all aspects of Solway life from agriculture to history and from wildlife to buildings. The scene is set by a range of experts and the story of the Solway Coast develops through history until the present day where various projects and schemes are described to provide protection and conservation of the landscape for generations to come. The film was made by post-graduate students from the Film Media department of Cumbria Institute of the Arts.
The film is shown on a plasma screen with Dolby Surround Sound and is available on DVD from the Discovery Centre.
The film and the cinema have been sponsored by the Rural Development Service, Rural Regeneration Cumbria and Cumbria Tourist Board.
